  2. README FOR THINKIN' THINGS COLLECTION 1 CD

  6. This document contains important late-breaking information you should know
  7. about running Thinkin' Things.  Please read it carefully to avoid any
  8. potential problems.
  9.  
  10. INSTALLING FROM MICROSOFT WINDOWS:  After installing from Microsoft Windows,
  11.     you will need to restart Windows in order for the Edmark group and
  12.     Thinkin' Things program icon to appear.
  13.  
  14. RUNNING THINKIN' THINGS FROM KIDDESK FAMILY EDITION:  If you chose "Let
  15.     Thinkin' Things use my Windows sound configuration" in the Thinkin'
  16.     Things installer, add C:\EDMARK\CD\TT\TTW.EXE to KidDesk Family Edition.

  18.     If you chose "Suspend Windows while running Thinkin Things" in the
  19.     Thinkin' Things installer, add C:\EDMARK\CD\TT\TT.EXE to KidDesk Family
  20.     Edition and choose the "Run from DOS" option. This is the recommended
  21.     option.
  22.  
  23.     If you chose "Run Thinkin' Things directly from Windows" in the Thinkin'
  24.     Things installer, add C:\EDMARK\CD\TT\TT.EXE to KidDesk Family Edition.
  25.  
  26.     If you choose to associate Thinkin' Things with a KidDesk Family Edition
  27.     desktop accessory, you will need to use the following in the accessory
  28.     run line:  DOS C:\EDMARK\CD\TT\TT.EXE If necessary, replace "C" with the
  29.     appropriate drive letter.
  30.  
  31. USING YOUR WINDOWS SOUND CONFIGURATION:  If you have difficulties running
  32.     Thinkin' Things using your Windows sound configuration and other
  33.     applications provide sound when running through Windows, you will need
  34.     to do one of the following:  Contact your sound card manufacturer and
  35.     upgrade your sound card Windows drivers to the newest version.
  36.     or
  37.     Run the Thinkin' Things install program and choose the "Suspend Windows
  38.     while running Thinkin' Things" install option.
  39.  
  40. COPYING THINKIN' THINGS CD TO YOUR HARD DISK:  Thinkin' Things CD may run
  41.     slightly faster if it is copied to your hard disk.  This is done by
  42.     creating a new directory on your hard disk, copying all the files from
  43.     the CD into that directory, and then starting Thinkin' Things from that
  44.     directory.

  47.         MD TTCD
  48.         CD TTCD
  49.     XCOPY D:\TTCD\*.*  /s (Where "D" is the drive letter of your CD-ROM
  50.     drive.)

  52. If you have any other problems not covered in this document or in the
  53.     Troubleshooting section of the manual, please call our friendly
  54.     Technical Support staff.  Before you call please make sure you know:
  55.  
  56.     1) The kind of computer you are using, including the model (for example,
  57.        50 MHz 486, 25 MHz 386, etc.)
  58.     2) Additional hardware information including sound card, mouse, etc.
  59.     3) Operating system information, such as the DOS version and the
  60.        contents of your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.
  61.     4) A detailed description of the problem, including specific error
  62.        messages, the activity where the error occurred, etc.
  63.
